Overview
Admission Procedures
- Pre-Enrollment application
- Visitation and teacher observation
- Testing
- Admission committee review for formal acceptance
Admission is not considered final until all school records are
received, reviewed, and accepted by the Admission Committee.
Subject to the discretion of the Pastor and the Principal, no
student may be admitted to Shrine of the Sacred Heart School
who has been expelled or asked to withdraw from any other school
for a criminal offense, misdemeanor, or for any offense which
would result in expulsion or a request to withdraw from The Shrine.
Probationary
Period
All new students are on a first year probationary period. Each
student's academic and behavioral progress is evaluated at the
end of each marking period to determine if the student should
remain at Shrine of the Sacred Heart School.
During this one-year period the behavior and academic progress
of the new student will be observed. To properly satisfy
the behavioral and academic needs of all students, the needs
of the new students must be compatible with the currently available
resources of the school. Students whose behavioral and
academic needs are beyond the resources of The Shrine will be
advised to seek help satisfying those needs. The Administration
reserves the power to extend this probationary period for an
additional year if necessary.
The goal of our educational program is to meet the needs of
each child. If the learning differences of the student
are beyond the professional expertise of the faculty or adversely
affect the learning environment, the administration will meet
with the parents to discuss the best placement for the child.
